Preparation for the wonderful celebration of Christmas includes decorations, greeting cards, and getting presents for people we love. In the background of all this are the stories of the coming and birth of Jesus. We love theses stories from our childhood but how do we read them as an adult?
This Advent, Sister Cathy Stare will help us to discover how the Gospels of Matthew and Luke prepare us for the celebration of Christmas. We will learn how to read the beginning of those two Gospels through the lens of contemporary biblical scholarship.
There are two main messages in the opening chapter of those Gospels. Understanding those messages deepens our appreciation of the Incarnation – God-with-us, which we celebrate on December 25.
Tuesday, December 5th, 6:45 – 8:00 p.m or Wednesday, December 6th, 9:45 – 11:00 a.m.
